Antimicrobial Processing Solution
MVP-8 is a highly pure 8.35% sodium chlorite antimicrobial processing solution designed to provide antimicrobial properties for meat, poultry, seafood, and produce processing.
When activated with a GRAS acid, MVP-8 forms acidified sodium chlorite (ASC), effectively reducing pathogenic and spoilage organisms, enhancing food safety and shelf life. It can be used with MVP Activator-P (35% phosphoric acid) for normal operations and MVP Activator-C (50% citric acid) for organic operations.
Characteristics
- Has high oxidation potential and is very reactive

- Remains stable for a minimum of 1 year under normal conditions
- Degrades to sodium chloride (table salt)
MVP-8 is approved as an aid under 21 CFR 173.325. It’s FDA approved.
